PLANNING A MARQUEE WEDDING AT HOME
For many years as a wedding planner in the UK, I’ve had the privilege of designing unforgettable marquee weddings in the private homes of my clients. There’s something truly magical about transforming a cherished family space into a setting that reflects the heart and character of each couple’s love story. Trust is paramount in this process—working in someone’s home requires an understanding and respect that can only be built through strong relationships. From my first meeting with the wonderful Hannah and Connor, I made it my priority to build a genuine connection with them and their families, ensuring every detail is handled with care and discretion. Every element, from the marquee’s layout to the personalised touches within, is crafted to blend luxury and warmth, creating a celebration that feels both intimate and unforgettable. This approach not only guarantees a smooth, enjoyable experience but also a wedding day that will be cherished by everyone in attendance for years to come.
Hannah and Connor celebrated their wedding over an unforgettable four-day event at their family home in the beautiful Lake District. Their vision was for a celebration that combined fun, elegance, wholesomeness, and beauty—a true reflection of their personalities and values. With much of their time spent in the US, building a warm rapport with Hannah and Connor was essential to creating a celebration that felt authentically them and seamlessly incorporated the charm of their beloved home.
DAY ONE
The festivities began on Day 1 with an intimate dinner in the family dining room, bringing together their closest family members for an evening of togetherness and celebration. Their personal chefs crafted a delightful menu using only the finest locally sourced ingredients, a nod to the couple’s connection to their hometown. The result was a cosy, meaningful start to a celebration that would continue to unfold in beautiful, bespoke moments across the following days.
DAY TWO OF HANNAH AND CONNOR’S MARQUEE WEDDING
Hannah and Connor’s marquee wedding celebration continued on Day two with a vibrant rehearsal dinner, thoughtfully designed to bring warmth, joy, and connection. Knowing how much this night meant to them—and with many guests travelling from across the globe to attend—we crafted an evening that was fun, colourful, and full of personal touches. The menu was inspired by Hannah and Connor’s favourite dishes, accompanied by a tempting array of cocktails from the talented Mixology Brothers, ensuring each drink was as memorable as the evening itself.
To set the tone for a lively night, The Phat Cats took the stage, filling the air with music that got everyone dancing and celebrating. With this being the first time in years that many guests had seen each other, we thoughtfully wove in plenty of opportunities for relaxed conversation and meaningful reconnections. Every detail, from the bespoke stationery by Calendar Paper Co. to the abundant, cheerful florals arranged by Vincent and Stubbs, was designed to reflect the couple’s style and to create a welcoming atmosphere. The result was a beautiful evening where friends and family could truly enjoy each other’s company and share in the joy of Hannah and Connor’s celebration
THE DAY OF THE WEDDING
Day Three was the highlight of Hannah and Connor’s marquee wedding celebration—their wedding day. The morning began with a beautiful ceremony at the local church, where friends and family gathered to witness a truly heartfelt service. After the vows were exchanged, everyone returned to the family home to enjoy an afternoon and evening filled with joyous festivities.
Guests were welcomed with bespoke cocktails prepared by the Mixology Brothers, served in custom glassware that gave a subtle nod to Hannah and Connor’s favourite haunt in New York City: Starbucks. This playful touch set a warm and welcoming tone for the day. The wedding breakfast that followed was a feast of the finest food, thoughtfully curated to reflect the couple’s tastes, accompanied by exceptional wines from the family’s very own vineyard.
As evening fell, The Phat Cats took the stage, bringing energy and excitement to the celebrations. The dance floor was alive all night, with guests laughing and dancing into the early hours. The night then culminated in a spectacular firework display, lighting up the skies and bringing a stunning close to an extraordinary day. Every detail, from the exquisite menu to the breathtaking finale, was designed to celebrate Hannah and Connor’s unique story, ensuring a day that everyone will remember for years to come.
THE FINAL FAREWELL
The final day of Hannah and Connor’s marquee wedding celebrations saw a relaxed and heartfelt farewell brunch, the perfect send-off for guests before they departed. In keeping with Hannah’s love of Starbucks, we arranged a custom coffee truck, complete with personalised coffee cups, offering a touch of her favourite New York charm right at home. Guests enjoyed a bountiful brunch feast, with time to reflect on the joyous celebrations of the past few days and share stories, laughter, and lingering moments together.
This final gathering beautifully capped off a wedding that perfectly reflected Hannah and Connor—warm, vibrant, and truly one-of-a-kind. Every detail was crafted to bring their vision to life, and it was everything they’d dreamed of and more.
