A GLORIOUS WEDDING WEEKEND
Given Cornwell Manor’s enviable reputation and beautiful scenery, we were delighted to be asked to plan this beauitful weekend wedding for Sophie and Nathan last summer.
Sophie and Nathan’s Cornwell Manor wedding celebrations started on a hot summer afternoon in July. Their close family, bridesmaids and Ushers arrived on Thursday ready for an exciting weekend of celebrations. Travelling in from as far as Australia, the couple hosted two very special dinners – one for Sophie and her bridemaids, and one for Nathan and the ushers. Once the guests had settled in and unpacked for the weekend, the wonderful team at Ross and Ross served a delicious summer dinner under the pear trees out in the gardens for Sophie, and the gents enjoyed some stonebaked pizzas in the the TV room while watching the rugby (which made perfect sense given Nathan’s job as a professional rugby player!). It was a great way to start the weekend, giving everyone time to relax and unwind before the celebrations the next day.
The following day was spent relaxing by the pool and exploring the grounds of Cornwell Manor. The venue is set with a 2000 acre estate, so there were lots of spots to explore including the breathtaking view over the Lakes below. Sophie and Nathan had their legal ceremony later on Friday afternoon with just their close friends and family in attendance. It was incredibly intimate and very special, taking place in a secluded spot behind the house.
CEREMONY ON THE LAWNS
The Wedding took place on Saturday and was absolutely incredible from the moment guests woke up to the moment the very last song finished in the early hours of the next morning. Weddings at Cornwell Manor are truly magical.
The guests staying at Cornwell Manor for the weekend of the Wedding were up bright and early ready for their morning preparations. The brilliant Emma Kim Hair arrived first thing along with the very talented Katie Daisy and their teams to start hair and make up. Meanwhile outside, luxury London wedding florists Wild About Flower were busy creating some magic down by the pond ready for the ceremony. We opted for a simple green and ivory colour scheme with a bespoke arrangement of luscious and flowing roses and foliage positioned in the centre of the pond which would create an incredible backdrop for the ceremony offset with a luxurious ivory runner which would lead Sophie down the aisle all the way from the house down to the gardens.
Later that afternoon guests began to arrive, ready to take their seats for the ceremony. Lead by Celebrant Justine Coombs, it was truly beautiful.
After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed champagne and canapes from the team at Ross and Ross and music on the terrace at Cornwell Manor. It was lovely to see so many of the guests soaking in their gorgeous surroundings and relaxing in the sunshine. Meanwhile, the team were putting the final touches to the marquee, which looked just incredible! Wild About Flower created a vibrant and colourful display of gorgeous flowers; garden roses, nigella, lilac scabious, delphiniums, snapdragons, sweet peas… The team really worked very hard with the brief we gave them. The colours were bright and vibrant, with pops of pinks, oranges and purples. In the early stages of planning the wedding, Sophie and Nathan had been very keen to ensure the colours of the flowers in the marquee reflected their personalities. They opted against anything too traditional and instead chose a colour palette and design that best represented them.
As well as the beautiful table centre pieces, we also commissioned Wild About Flower to create a stunning archway over the entrance to the marque and a beatiful hanging arrangement over the bar. The flowers were complimented with vintage Empire Chandeliers suspended from the ceiling by Crescent Moon, which created the perfect framing for the lounge area we created with sophisticated and elegant sofas from WedHead.
The photo’s, taken by Jamie Dunn, really show how the whole team of suppliers onboard for this wedding, lead by Bride & Belle Luxury Weddings, worked incredibly hard to deliver Sophie and Nathan’s wedding day.
Next it was time for dinner. Ross and Ross served three courses of pure deliciousness followed by after dinner cocktails which went down a storm. Once the formalities were over, it was time for the party! We chose a band that we knew would have all of the guests on the dance floor the moment the first song started – Nomad London, one of the UK’s only amplified roaming bands. Slick, innovative and unique – the band had the entire dancefloor filled in moments, through to the very end of the night.
We were beyond thrilled to have been a part of Sophie and Nathan’s Cornwell Manor Wedding. You can view more from the weekend over on our Instagram.
